Trident LP Water Treatment System

Triton underdrain eliminates gravel and the problems it can cause by replacing conventional filter blocks or perforated pipe laterals with continuous slot screens that retain filter media directly. In addition to eliminating the difficulty and inconvenience inherent the use of support gravel, Triton can extend service cycles and generate even less wastewater. Simultaneous air/water backwash returns the filter to lower clean bed headloss. Triton, which has recently become a technology of U.S. Filter/WPC, is appropriate for retrofits and new installations.

As a result of Triton's demonstrated advantages, the underdrain has been incorporated into the Trident LP water treatment system. The replacement of the Trident system's previous underdrain system with the Triton underdrain has eliminated the need for support gravel in the mixed media filter portion of the process. This allows room for simultaneous air/water backwash and additional activated carbon media in the filter bed.
