Tata Power's Generation Capacity Stands At 8613 MW In Q1 FY15 Consolidated Generation Stood At 11,866 MUs

Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, recently announced generation of 11,866 MUs (million units) of power collectively from all its power plants in Q1 FY15. With the total power generation capacity of Tata Power standing at 8613 MW from various fuel sources such as thermal (coal, gas and oil), hydroelectric power, renewable energy (wind and solar PV) and waste heat recovery, thereby reinforcing its position as the largest integrated power company in India.

CGPL and MPL continue to contribute significantly towards the increase in generation capacity, with 6599 MUs and 1793 MUs respectively for Q1 FY15 as compared to the previous year with 6148 MUs and 1719 MUs Q1 FY14.

Commenting on this development, Mr Anil Sardana, Managing Director, Tata Power, stated, "We at Tata Power have an ambitious roadmap to expand our presence across the power value chain to empower and positively impact the lives of our stakeholders. By 2022, Tata Power aims to boost the generation capacity to 18000 MW and 4000 MW of distribution respectively. The Company has a significant presence in the clean energy sector with a gross installed capacity of 1202 MW. Today, Tata Power has a total operating capacity of 460.6 MW from Wind farms and 54 MW in Solar Generation. In addition, the Company has 447 of hydro and 240 MW from waste gas based generation.
