Rotor turning units can be used to facilitate the startup of turbomachinery shaft trains and to slowly rotate turbine rotors during system cool down
Rotor turning units can be used to facilitate the startup of turbomachinery shaft trains and to slowly rotate turbine rotors during system cool down. Rotor turning units are available in two configurations: Shaft End Mounting, in which the unit is connected to an unused shaft end in the shaft train, and In Shaft Train, for applications without an unused shaft end. Designs accommodating turning speeds from 2 - 400 rpm and torques to 880,000 in-lb (100,000 Nm) are available.
