Release Of The Thermo Scientific High Level Model 81iH And Low Level Model 81iL Mercury Calibrators

Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc., the world leader in serving science, is proud to announce the release of the Thermo Scientific High Level Model 81iH and the Low Level Model 81iL Mercury Calibrators. The two new calibrators have all the general specifications of the standard Model 81i Mercury Calibrator, but differ in sampling ranges, mercury output, and chiller operating temperatures. Specifically, the Model 81iH calibrator is designed for applications measuring high levels of mercury and the Model 81iL calibrator is designed for applications measuring low levels of mercury. The different measurement capabilities of the calibrators are intended to help cement plants measure high levels of mercury and power plants measure mercury at small amounts with confidence in order to meet provisions of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Utility Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS), as well as the Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) for mercury monitoring. Both models fully integrate within the Thermo Scientific Mercury Freedom system.

In addition to the standard Model 81i Mercury Calibrator, the High Level Model 81iH and Low Level Model 81iL allow for:

  • A total of three mercury calibrators to choose from to meet unique regulatory needs
  • NIST-Traceability
  • Performing diagnostic calibrations directly to analyzer and probe
  • Periodic converter efficiency and linearity testing
