The selective catalytic reduction technology, ARIS 2000, is designed to control NOx emissions from stationary diesel engines. According to the manufacturer, this technology can reduce NOx emissions by as much as 90%.

The system meters precise amounts of safe reagent into the exhaust stream of diesel or lean burn natural gas engines. Once in the exhaust, the reagent decomposes and forms ammonia which passes over a catalyst to turn ozone-forming NOx into water, nitrogen and CO2.
