The Biach Nut and Washer Handling Tool (NWHT) is designed to provide ease of operation in removing or installing RPV nuts and washers after detensioning or prior to tensioning the studs. It is designed to be operated by one man thereby reducing crew requirements and collective dose associated with these tasks.

NWHT Operational Sequence:
1. Operator positions NWHT over stud and nut utilizing laser alignment.
2. NWHT is lowered over stud and nut until it rests on top of nut.
3. Operator engages nut drive
4. Operator engages washer gripper
5. Turn selector switch to begin threading
6. Raise NWHT with captured nut and washer
7. Position NWHT over holder in nut rack utilizing laser alignment system
8. Lower nut and washer onto holder
9. Release nut and washer

The NWHT is now ready to move on its trolley to the next stud location. Installation is simply the reverse of the above.

Typical Sequence Duration: 1.5 minutes per Stud/Nut Location
