LT3700/LT3710 RS-232/RS-485 Fiber Optic Modems

Source: Lascomm
The model 3520 is a T1/E1 Fiber Optic modem that offers advanced features such as jitter removal and a replaceable line interface module
Lascomm700/LT3710 RS-232/RS-485 Fiber Optic Modems are ideal for traffic control, industrial process control, and security systems that are configured for bus or ring topologies. The fiber modems regenerate fiber optic signals and provide greater system loss budgets (and increased distances). Both modems are often used in harsh environments where ground loops and EMI/RFI interference may occur. Lascomm700/LT3710 Multi-Drop Fiber Optic Modems interconnect multiple devices fitted with RS-232 or RS-485 interfaces. Both modems are capable of asynchronous data rates up to 19.2 Kbps. The CPE device at the host location transmits (broadcasts) asynchronous data to all of the remote CPE devices. The remote device that the host addressed then transmits data back to the host unit.

Each 850nm unit provides two pair of fiber optic interfaces and one RS-232 or RS-485 interface. The 1300nm models have one fiber optic interface (second pair is optional) and one RS-232 or RS 485 interface. The RS-485 electrical port can be multi-dropped. Either model can be configured in bus or ring topologies. For additional flexibility, both models can be mixed within the same system. Fiber optic connectors are ST; FC and SMA are optional. Electrical connectors are DB25 female. Power can be either 115 or 230 VAC with an external power cube.
