L.E.D. & Exit Lighting

It is really easy to underestimate the cost of exit lighting. There are so many factors involved that we often just brush it aside until we must replace bulbs. Along with the physical side of the fixture, we must also be aware of local, state, and federal laws regard the illumination of passage of egress from a building in an emergency situation.

Common sense will tell you that for everyone's' safety, exit lights must be lit at all times the building is open. As we often do, we don't bother with these fixtures until a local, state or federal safety inspector comes and cites us for not having them lit.

You can address this problem and save about $80 per fixture per year. LED retrofit kits are available for all exit lights, even compact fluorescents. By changing your signs over to LED you also virtually eliminate any maintenance costs. These kits are warranted for 25 years and at 1.8 watts per sign, the savings could be $80 or more.
