KeySpan Energy Names Diana L. Taylor Vice President

BROOKLYN AND HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (March 8) BUSINESS WIRE -March 8, 1999--Diana L. Taylor has been named a Vice President of KeySpan Energy (NYSE: KSE), effective immediately.

Ms. Taylor will oversee the company's Government & Regulatory Affairs, and be responsible for its community affairs and regional development programs, as well as the corporation's issues management function.

Ms. Taylor has had a distinguished career in finance as well as in the public sector. She began her career as an Analyst with the New York State Department of Social Services before becoming an Associate with Smith Barney, Harris Upham. She then joined Lehman Brothers, Kuhn Loeb as a Vice President. In the following years, she served as Senior Vice President of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where she managed the short-term finance groups. She later joined M.R. Beal & Company as a founding partner.

As Assistant Secretary to the Governor since 1996, Ms. Taylor was a leading player on a variety of issues, including the dredging of New York harbor and working with the utility industry in New York State. She was the Governor's liaison with the New York State Public Service Commission on the deregulation of energy and telecommunications, and participated in the Long Island Power Authority's acquisition of the electric transmission and distribution system previously owned by the Long Island Lighting Company.

A resident of New York City, Ms. Taylor received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Dartmouth College in 1977, and an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School in 1980.
