Maintenance-free NOVA technology eliminates the need for gas and oil in distribution switchgear. It combines environmentally-safe solid polymer encapsulated vacuum interrupters with a lightweight operating mechanism to ensure a lifetime of trouble-free operation.

The technology eliminates the need to monitor SF6 gas pressure or oil levels, to filter or replenish dielectric, to take special precautions when handling the dielectric during maintenance, or to worry about environmental regulations regarding disposal of toxic or environmentally-unfriendly materials.

An environmentally-safer alternative to SF6 gas and oil, the design uses cycloaliphatic solid epoxy-insulation systems to produce encapsulated electrical devices.
