The TF Series systems are based on the rugged TF aeroderivative gas turbines, adapted from Honeywell's proven aero-engine designs and specifically configured for marine use. Honeywell's family of aero-engines have accumulated more than 20 million hours of operation.

Advantages of using these gas turbines for commercial and naval applications are great:

• Compact size allows for easy on-board installation and changeout;
• High operational readiness;
• Fast cold start characteristics;
• Low emissions and vibration; and
• Flexibility to efficiently burn a variety of fuels.

The TF40, TF50, TF80, and TF100 gas turbine systems currently perform in a variety of military and commercial marine applications. These engines are especially well suited where vessel speed is a desired characteristic and where installation area is at a premium.

The small size and light weight features of the TF series allows for the installation of three to four times the horsepower over diesel engines for the same installed weight, and at a lower installed volume. These attributes are advantageous for fast ferry, multi- and mono-hull commercial ships, and military fast patrol boats, fast missile craft, corvettes and hovercraft.

The TF marine gas turbine systems can drive a variety of propulsors including fixed and variable pitch propellers, waterjets and, in the case of hovercraft, air props.
