Heat Exchanger Performance
The program also has built-in the properties for water and dry air. However, it can analyze the performance for any type of single-phase fluids. It uses rigorous formulations for Reynolds number, Prandlt number, and Nusselt number to predict the film coefficient for both the shell-side and the tube-side and the overall heat transfer coefficient. The tubes may be of any material and any thickness. Fouling factors may be of the percent clean type or of the fouling factors type for both the shell-side and the tube-side. The program also calculates the average bulk fluid temperature and recalculates the results, and the tube metal temperatures and corrects the results.
