The Ormat Energy Converter is a heat recovery power system. It converts otherwise wasted heat energy from cement plant processes into grid-compatible electricity for sale to the local utility or for use in the plant.
Like steam power plants, this system is based on the Rankine Cycle but uses a non-freezing, ozone-safe organic working fluid, which can operate more effectively with the typical heat sources found in the cement plant processes.
