Originally designed to remove abrasive fly ash from the collection hoppers of coal-fired plants, these dependable workhorses have proven themselves in a variety of feeding applications involving dry abrasives. Detroit Rotary Seal Feeders are frequently chosen for such difficult materials such as brass chips, crushed stone, granite dust, crushed ores, salt, and foundry sand.

Detroit Rotary Seal Feeders employ a special rotor sealing system that automatically adjusts for expansion and wear through the use of spring-loaded tension bolts. This eliminates excessive air leakage around the rotor; a principle cause of reduced feeding capacity and decreased efficiency.

Detroit Rotary Seal Feeders are available with 8-vane and 16-vane rotors to accommodate systems with various pressure differentials between inlet and outlet. Both feature rugged cast iron construction for heavy-duty and high-temperature applications, access openings for internal inspection and externally mounted pillow block bearings. They are available with inlet/outlet diameters ranging from 4" through 14".
