DESIGNpoint software is a Windows 95/98/NT development tool for visually constructing and implementing DOS-based transaction applications. It provides database access via Open Database Connectivity (ODBC).
The product has auto-ID capability and access to file servers, mail servers ,time servers, and FTP servers. If the network or database is unavailable, stand-alone capability can be provided for local validation, data storage, and application execution.
Other features include:
- diagrammer and server capability for file transfer between the client data collection computer and the server PC
- A Quick-Start Guide with a tutorial section, hints and tips compiled from development of real-world applications and OBDC setup instructions
- automated hardware setup tools for various network types
- automatic identification and configuration of the application for different hardware platforms
