The Damage Control Quarters (DCQ) System automates damage control alarms, plotting, timing, tracking, and resource allocation to help personnel resolve the problem at hand
The Damage Control Quarters (DCQ) System automates damage control alarms, plotting, timing, tracking, and resource allocation to help personnel resolve the problem at hand. Gone are the days of charts, phones, grease pencils, and miscommunications between phone talkers and plotters in the midst of a crisis on board ship. For each ship, DCQ is broken down into a 3D schematic (by compartment) according to the ship's layout. DCQ workstations are mounted in key locations such as Damage Control Center (DCC), the Bridge, and various repair and machine spaces throughout the ship. Each DCQ computer is networked to one another so that each reflects the activities, status, and changes occurring at other workstations. The DCQ system allows personnel to better manage an emergency by allowing them to see the casualty in advance, communicate quickly without breakdowns, and use multiple resources accordingly.
