Condensate Treatment Systems

Condensate Treatment Systems
Condensate streams normally contain corrosion products and/or dissolved mineral, which may reduce the efficiency of the thermal cycle or cause internal chemical or physical damage to the system.
Condensate streams normally contain corrosion products and/or dissolved mineral, which may reduce the efficiency of the thermal cycle or cause internal chemical or physical damage to the system. Condensate treatment techniques are available to reduce the losses or damages caused by corrosion and/or deposits. Furthermore, start-up times can be appreciably reduced and the routine cleaning frequency minimized, thus improving on-line availability and consequently the bottom line, with the installation of a condensate treatment system.

There are various techniques available to treat condensate returns, depending on the nature of substance to be removed. For the removal of suspended iron (crud), there is a full range of backflushable filters, which reduce corrosion products to single digit-fractional ppb levels. These filters can be easily retrofitted into existing systems.

For dissolved solids removal in conjunction with the removal of suspended solids, there is the deep-bed condensate polishers with external regeneration or powdered resin precoat type polishing systems,
