This software can optimize a unit that is operating in transient mode. This makes optimizing a boiler that is in a load-following mode much easier, and allowing it to accommodate the changing total power demand on the utility. The software has gone through Alpha testing and is ready for Beta testing. It will be tested for the first time under an EPRITC at Allegheny Power's Armstrong Station. Included with the EPRITC is a coal and airflow instrumentation for individual burner optimization.
