Providing wireless connectivity for an array of short-packet signaling and messaging services, the MicroBurst technology employs the control channel infrastructure of the cellular network as a transmission medium for ubiquitous coverage. Initial applications include vehicle position and condition reporting, security and equipment monitoring and utility meter reading.

The system transmits packets of information via a Reverse Control Channel (RECC). Each packet is capable of carrying 15 numerical characters of information for a fixed or mobile telemetry-based application. It uses Signaling System #7 (SS7) protocol to automatically route the packets with a unique MIN via the North American network.

The company's hub provides data handling, routing and billing functions. Data is transmitted from the data hub to the distribution channels and service providers via the Internet, dedicated socket or dial-up connections. The system provides reliable two-way transmission of data.
