U.S. Gaslight Company, a Division of TrimbleHouse Corp. has developed and patented a second generation automatic solar operated turn-off device for gas lights that is designed as a retrofit for gaslights that are already in operation or for new installations. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a qrant to U.S. Gaslight to finish the development of the new technologies and prepare the product for the market as soon as possible.

The Gas "Saver" has been in its final testing stages during the past year and will be ready for the U.S. market later in 1998.

The "Saver" will save a homeowner 50% of the cost of operating a gaslight and save 50% on the cost of operating a commercial light for city streets or large developments. If only 3% of the present gas light owners would use the "Saver" as an Energy Saving Lighting Device, not only would emissions of CO, C02 and NOx be reduced, but the equivalent of 1 million barrels of oil per year would be saved.

Only limited reductions of emissions has been achieved around the world in the last 5 years, and after the December, 1997 Kyoto, Japan Conference on controlling gas buildups, U.S. Gaslight is in the forefront with its new invention to assist the consumer and commercial projects in cutting energy costs and gas use a ~inimum of 50% in outdoor lighting.
