Precision Engine Controls' new Hi-Flo gas fuel metering valve (HFG 2.0) is specifically designed for gas turbine engines from 1 to 30 mW. The valve employs patent pending design features including an explosion-proof integrally mounted actuator, balanced metering section and leak tight seal.

The valve is extremely responsive and accurate. This is accomplished through an on-board digital electronic control providing commands to a precise brushless DC motor with resolver feedback. The HFG 2.0 has a turn-down ratio of over 400:1 and will slew from fully closed to fully open in less than 100msec. Using unique software capabilities, these valves can be calibrated to flow accuracies of +/- 1% of required flow!

The HFG 2.0 is available with either an aluminum or stainless steel valve body. Basic construction employs a propriety designed ball-screw type actuator directly coupled to a brushless DC motor and operates on 120VDC. The metering element incorporates balanced, flow through metering orifices that are contamination resistant. Should contamination enter the valve, the high force actuator has the capability of crushing most particles or just passing them through. In addition the valve features leak tight seats.

Fuel flow curves can be linear or nonlinear and are custom designed and programmed to match the engine flow requirements. The valve can flow up to 30,000 pph of natural gas at 59ºF. Several units may be installed in parallel to achieve flow requirements for the larger industrial gas turbine engines.
