Recently, EJS has incorporated the use of a revolutionary design tool that has not only transformed the way we design expansion joints, it has also enhanced the way we help our customers. This new design tool, PRO/ENGINEER or PRO/E, is a parametric solid modeling package that provides a design freedom not available in any 2D drafting software package. Our expansion joints are modeled as solid parts then sections are taken through the model for detailing. Ultimately, fabrication drawings are generated with minimal effort.
Once the expansion joint is modeled, our engineers can run a Finite Element Analysis to ensure the structural integrity of any critical areas. In addition to the stress analysis, a thermal analysis can also be performed either in a cyclic or steady state condition to compliment the stress analysis.
From a simple bolted flanged unit to the most complex catalytic cracking unit, EJS is able to ensure clearances and structural integrity before we go to production. Last minute design changes are no problem- they can be made in just minutes without sacrificing quality. The result?
