BACKGROUND:
Gas scrubbers are used in paper mills, utilities, and
chemical plants to remove sulfur dioxide (SO2) and
other gaseous pollutants. The gases are removed by
contacting with water solutions and slurries, the most
common being lime (Ca[OH]2) and limestone
(CaCO3). Rosemount Analytical pH equipment is
used to control the feed rate of these chemicals.
